“With skill-based education, opportunities open worldwide”—in this time of acute unemployment, our goal is to create avenues for self-employment by equipping students with modern, technology-driven, and practical education in line with this guiding principle of vocational learning.

Meherpur, known as the cradle of Bangladesh’s independence, has unfortunately remained at the lowest tier of the education sector since independence. Technical education here was nearly nonexistent. Out of this realization, Meherpur College of Engineering and Technology became the first in the district to introduce a four-year Diploma in Engineering program. In 2011, the Bangladesh Technical Education Board granted approval to Meherpur College of Engineering and Technology—the very first in the district—thereby opening a new gateway to technical education and earning the gratitude of the local people.

Since its establishment, the institution has emphasized strict quality control and disciplined management. As a result, it has already secured a place as one of the leading polytechnic colleges in the region. Meherpur College of Engineering and Technology is a unique institution of modern, employment-oriented education. Through a combined effort of general and technical education programs, it helps students become self-reliant, develop strong character and humanity, and prepare themselves for a successful professional life.

By instilling in students a spirit of openness, integrity, thoughtfulness, and above all, patriotism, the institution strives to create responsible citizens. Only when our society is free from unemployment, enriched, and prosperous will I consider this institution’s mission to be truly fulfilled.
